St. Mike’s Race for Faith is an event for the whole family, now in its 5th year! In 2007, St Michael’s school replaced its annual fall cookie dough fundraiser with a 5K run/walk or stroll. It promotes physical activity, fun and family. The race was endorsed by the Governor’s Physical Fitness council in 2008 because of its commitment to encourage family participation in physical activity This event is a family friendly event with a twilight start at 6:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2011. There is a post race picnic with grinders, pizza and fruit. There is a playground, free bounce houses and music. Families are welcome to participate together in the 5K. Each year students from St. Michael’s school participate in an art contest. The winning drawing for the year is the graphics for that year’ s t-shirt. Never the same shirt twice!! There are prizes for the top male and female in the following divisions 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over. Timing is done by Michigan Running Foundation. |
